TxDOT to install partial storm surge wall during hurricane readiness drill in Aransas Pass

ARANSAS PASS, Texas - The Texas Department of Transportation will conduct its annual hurricane readiness drill on Thursday by installing part of the storm surge wall along SH 361 in Aransas Pass.

ARANSAS PASS, Texas - The Texas Department of Transportation will conduct its annual hurricane readiness drill on Thursday by installing part of the storm surge wall along SH 361 in Aransas Pass.

The exercise is scheduled for 9 a.m. just west of the Dale Miller Bridge on SH 361.

Officials said maintenance crews will erect a partial section of the storm surge wall as part of annual hurricane preparedness efforts ahead of the 2026 storm season.
