Excitement is building in Atascosa County as the 60th Annual Pleasanton Young Farmers Rodeo and Dance prepares to take over the Atascosa County Showbarn this Friday and Saturday, Aug. 14-15.

Billed as "One of the Richest Open Rodeos in Texas," the milestone anniversary event promises a full weekend of high-stakes arena action, community honors and live music.

The festivities begin Thursday night with rodeo slack, paving the way for two action-packed main performances at the showbarn, located at 318 Showbarn Road in Pleasanton.
