TATUM, Texas (KLTV) - A Longview man is behind bars after police say he committed an aggravated assault using a deadly weapon during an altercation at an apartment complex in Tatum.

Brontravis Markeel Williams, 22, was held Saturday pending arraignment at the Rusk County Jail on the following charges, according to jail records:aggravated assault with a deadly weaponunlawful carry of a weapon child endangerment with intentional knowing of reckless and criminal negligence (two counts)Tatum police arrested the man after police and Rusk County deputies responded around 12:54 a.m. to a Tatum apartment complex after a report of an assault, where they encountered Williams and placed him into custody, a Tatum police spokesperson wrote in a press release.

No injuries occurred and the area is considered safe, according to police.
