In Kayce Davis' math classroom at Pieper Ranch Middle School, students are encouraged to focus on continuous improvement and believe that they are capable of doing hard things.

In recognition of the great impact Davis has made on her students, she was recently announced as the Comal Independent School District's 2026 secondary teacher of the year.

It is a recognition she said left her feeling honored and speechless.
