Counting Stars Ranch in Upshur County opens memorial bridge to honor veterans, raise funds
Counting Stars Ranch, a nonprofit in Upshur County, opened a memorial bridge and is offering veteran memorial plaques to raise funds for service dog training and veteran family programs.

UPSHUR COUNTY, Texas (KLTV) - An Upshur County nonprofit organization called Counting Stars Ranch is dedicated to helping veterans and their service dogs find friendship and healing for improved mental health.
And to help pay for their service dog training or sponsor a veteran's family for a stay, the ranch is now offering veteran memorial plaques.
Nationwide in 2023 nearly 64 hundred veterans died by suicide according to the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs.
