BRAZOS COUNTY, Texas (KBTX) - Brazos County Commissioners Court voted 3-2 Tuesday to raise the county's property tax rate by roughly 2. 4 cents - the first increase in two years - despite a divided court and pushback from two commissioners who wanted to hold the line.

The new rate is $0. 443474 per $100 of property valuation, up from last year's $0. 4197.

For the average homeowner, that translates to roughly a $95 to $100 increase on the county portion of this year's tax bill.
