Taylor High School summer interns at Samsung Austin Semiconductor learned a hightech education includes pitching in to help the community, company officials said.

This year's six-week class as part of Samsung's "We Chip In" philosophy cleaned up Murphy Park for Independence Day, according to a release.

Samsung views community engagement "not just as a corporate box to check, but as a 'vital investment'" to nearby neighborhoods and its own workforce, company officials said.
