Buckle up, phone down: What officers want teen drivers to know this summer
A federal report highlights the dangers of teen drivers during summer, showing they account for 9% of fatal crashes despite making up only 5% of licensed drivers.

DENISON, Texas (KXII) - With school out for the summer, roads in Texoma are seeing more teen drivers - and a new federal report from the U.S. Department of Transportation shows the risks that come with it.
According to the report, teen drivers make up just 5% of all licensed drivers but account for 9% of all fatal crashes.
When a distracted teen is behind the wheel, nearly half of those killed are also teens.
