TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - A Smith County Sheriff's Office deputy died Tuesday afternoon after collapsing at the sheriff's office building in Tyler, authorities said.
Deputy Gerald Rhey Atchison Jr., 53, was on duty at the Smith County Sheriff's Office when he collapsed around 2:00 p.m., according to the sheriff's office.
