Waco man accused of using AI to generate pornographic images of children, warrant states

A 25-year-old Waco man was arrested on charges of possession and production of child sexual abuse material generated using artificial intelligence.

WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Waco police arrested a 25-year-old man Wednesday on child pornography charges, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.

John Robert McKelvey is facing two counts of possession, promotion, or production of certain visual material appearing to depict a child, according to the document.

A Waco Police detective started investigating McKelvey after a Cybertip referral from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children on Aug. 16, 2025.
