WACO, Texas (KWTX) - A Waco pastor who has led his congregation for more than two decades is now awaiting a potential heart transplant after doctors identified a problem with his heart's pumping function.

Rick Ogles, pastor of The Olive Branch Christian Fellowship, said doctors flagged the issue during a routine physical exam in October 2024."About a year and a half ago, about October of 2024, I went and did a physical exam at my doctor's office. And they did an echocardio on my heart. But then they called me back and said, hey, we need to reexamine your heart because we see some issues in the ejection fraction," Ogles said.

Evaluation underway at Baylor Scott and WhiteOgles is currently being evaluated at Baylor Scott and White in Temple.
