CANTON, Texas (KLTV) - Four young children died and their mother was critically hurt in an overnight mobile home fire in Van Zandt County, just outside Canton on Wednesday.

The mother died later on Wednesday evening while in the hospital, according to the fire marshal.

When Canton firefighters arrived, the mobile home was half involved, according to South Van Zandt Volunteer Fire Department Battalion Chief Jason Foster, whose crew was called in as backup."As I got there, I went up to go in and help them search, they handed me the first one out. We pulled him out, started doing CPR immediately, and then they went in searching for the rest," Foster said.
