LAREDO, Tex.

(KGNS) - Congressman Henry Cuellar said the temporary suspension of the World Trade Bridge is already costing Laredo business, after federal buoys broke free from the Rio Grande's riverbed during flooding and drifted downstream to the bridge.

On Sunday, July 19, around 11:30 a.m., Cuellar said multiple local and federal agencies were actively monitoring the situation."These federal buoys were anchored to the Rio Grande's riverbed, yet flooding broke them free and carried them downstream to the World Trade Bridge," Cuellar said.
