New Braunfels welcomed a new mayor and District 6 city council representative on Monday, June 22.

Mayor Michael French and Councilmember Nikki Shaw were sworn in during the regular city council meeting, and former mayor Neal Linnartz and former councilmember April Ryan were recognized and thanked for their service.

Shaw and French secured their seats in the June 13 runoff, each by a margin of nearly 40 points, after neither received a majority in the first election.
