For the second week in a row, the Boerne Champion football team has hit the 60-point plateau after the Chargers defeated New Braunfels Long Creek 62-14 Thursday in their home opener at Boerne ISD Stadium.

Champion was coming off a 60-7 win the previous week against Laredo United South and stands at 2-0 as they close out non-district play.

The Chargers open district action next Friday at home against Bastrop Cedar Creek.
