Members of the Bandera community gathered July 27 to hear rancher, restaurateur and author Mollie Engelhardt discuss regenerative agriculture, soil health and sustainable food production during a recent presentation to the Texas Master Naturalist Hill Country Chapter.

Engelhardt, owner of Sovereignty Ranch in Bandera, shared her unconventional journey from operating five vegan restaurants in Los Angeles to managing a working cattle ranch and farm-to-table restaurant in Texas.

Known for her book Debunked by Nature, Engelhardt said her views on food production began to shift more than a decade ago after conversations about environmental sustainability and agriculture.
