Update 1:08 p.m.: The Wills Point Police Department announced officers captured a fugitive who escaped from a federal custody transfer Tuesday morning in Wills Point.

City Marshal Tyler Scott received a tip on the fugitive's location from a member of the public, and law enforcement located the mean in the area and arrested him without further issue, according to a press release."We also sincerely thank the public for their assistance, vigilance and the information and tips provided throughout the incident," a spokesperson wrote.
