Travelers heading to George Bush Intercontinental Airport could face traffic delays this week as construction work reduces the number of lanes available near the airport.

The roadwork started on Monday at 10 p.m. and will continue through Friday, according to the Houston Airport System.

Construction will affect southbound John F. Kennedy Boulevard near the airport's Marriott hotel, close to Terminals A and B. Drivers should prepare for possible backups and allow extra time when traveling to or from the airport.
