More than $600,000 in grant funding will soon be put to work across the Big Spring area after the Big Spring Area Community Foundation held a formal grant award ceremony Tuesday evening at its offices.

Community leaders, nonprofit representatives and local officials gathered as organizations received funding for projects ranging from youth programs and education to healthcare and community improvements.

George Bancroft, Executive Director of the Big Spring Area Community Foundation, said the organization takes pride in helping local groups make a lasting impact in the community.
