CALDWELL, Texas (KBTX) - Caldwell Fire and Rescue said crews responded to multiple water rescue incidents early Monday morning involving people trapped in vehicles in high water.

The department said the first call came in at 2:08 a.m. for a small vehicle reported submerged in about three feet of water at the railroad underpass on Highway 36 South near PR-3001.

The driver was assisted to safety, and the roadway was temporarily closed.
