Uvalde County Commissioners will consider renaming the Uvalde County Fairplex in honor of the late Judge Bill Mitchell when they meet at 10 a.m. June 8 at the courthouse.

Bill Mitchell Commissioners will consider a proposal to rename the facility the "William R. Mitchell Uvalde County Fairplex" in recognition of Mitchell's vision, dedication and leadership, per the meeting agenda.

Mitchell was elected to four terms as county judge and played a key role in the development of the fairplex.
