A long-awaited renovation that will bring a dual-branded Applebee's and IHOP restaurant to Big Spring is now expected to begin later than originally planned.

Construction on the $1. 5 million renovation at 704 W. Interstate 20 is now scheduled to begin Sept. 29, following a delay from the project's original timeline.

Once work begins, the restaurant is expected to close for approximately two months, with completion anticipated by late November.
