County Road 1, also known as Orla Road, has reopened to traffic following a precautionary closure related to a loss-of-containment incident at a well site about one mile north of Cotton Draw.

Lea County announced the reopening, confirming that the roadway is open from New Mexico Highway 128 to Battle Axe Road.

The road was closed Sunday, Oct. 18, after the incident was reported at about 6:03 a.m., according to information provided by Chevron.
