WACO, Texas - City leaders have released new details about the Barron's Branch District, a proposed 30-acre development near the Brazos River that would transform a stretch of downtown Waco into a walkable district with parks, a restored creek, splash pads and new gathering spaces.
The first phase of the project carries a $213 million price tag.
The city expects to break ground later this year, with construction lasting just over two years.
