WACO, Texas (KWTX) - A Waco man who admitted choking the mother of his children in a startling Facebook post in December 2023 was sentenced to 21 years in prison Thursday.

Kevin Eugene Reese, 31, pleaded guilty Thursday to a first-degree felony aggravated assault charge in the attack on Queen Brooks, 25, who was declared brain dead three days after she was rushed to a hospital.

Visiting Judge Roy Sparkman sentenced Reese to 21 years in prison in accordance with Reese's plea agreement with the McLennan County District Attorney's Office.
