A New Braunfels man died on Monday in a hit-and-run crash on State Highway 172 near La Ward, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Benjamin Lee Faulk of New Braunfels was outside a travel trailer replacing a damaged tire when he was struck by a passing vehicle, according to DPS' preliminary investigation.

He was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 12:56 p.m. Faulk was a fleet mechanic with the city of New Braunfels.
