LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - Police say one of the biggest issues at the fair is children getting separated from their families in the crowd.

Officer Steven Bergen said parents should pick a recognizable meeting spot in case that happens."So if you get separated, depending on the age of the kiddo, make sure if they do understand, be like, hey, maybe the ferris wheel... it's kind of the easiest thing to see throughout the whole fair... that's where we'll meet up," Bergen said.

Lost child protocolThe fair has worked with Lubbock police for more than a century, eventually developing a lost child protocol.
