BONHAM, Texas (KXII) - Barry Frambes has climbed 5 million stairs at Northside Church of Christ, reaching the milestone on his 82nd birthday.

Frambes has been climbing stairs at the church since 2010 in pursuit of the world record for most stairs climbed."We looked up on Guinness Book of World Records and the current record holder is Brian Davis in the United Kingdom, with a little bit over 2. 1 million steps," Frambes said.

Frambes reached his first 500,000 steps in 2012 and continued adding to his total."I completed 2 million on my 75th birthday by doing 75 flights," Frambes said.
