Top federal prosecutor in South Texas says birth tourism allegations at Mission Regional are 'highly, highly alarming'

Federal prosecutors are investigating allegations that two Rio Grande Valley hospitals promoted birth tourism following discovery of a billboard advertising birth services in Texas.

McALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) - Federal prosecutors may partner with the state to investigate whether two hospitals in the Rio Grande Valley promoted birth tourism.

Questions about Mission Regional Medical Center and Knapp Medical Center surfaced in July, when photos of a billboard in Mexico went viral.

The billboard promoted a website called havemybabyintexas.com.
