TOM BEAN, Texas (KXII/Gray News) - Family and friends are mourning the loss of a Texas high school senior known for her kindness and leadership.

Makynna Tumlinson, 18, died in a crash on Highway 11 while on her way to a new summer job.

Her mother, Stephanie Tumlinson, said they had spoken just before she left."She was headed to a new job, and we had talked right before she left to go to work, and unfortunately, she was headed to work when that happened," Stephanie Tumlinson said.
