Houston homicide detectives are responding to the 700 block of Cottage Street on Thursday afternoon after a man was fatally shot inside his car.

The shooting happened just after 1 p.m. and police said the shooter, a pedestrian, took off running after.

Witnesses told police the driver and pedestrian had some sort of altercation before the pedestrian fired several times into the vehicle.
