The Sophienburg Museum of History and Archive's annual Hispanic Heritage Month event, Fiesta Patrias, returned last Saturday, featuring free museum admission, food trucks, performances from the Amigos Band, El Gallo Firme, Mariachi Esmeralda and traditional dance group Compania De Danza as well as a special, one-day-only exhibit inside the Emmie Seele Faust Memorial Library centered around the event's theme.

This year's event theme, Conocios Los Negocios?, focused on the stories of New Braunfels' Hispanic business owners dating back to the 1880s.

Museum researcher Sylvia Segovia put together the exhibit, relying on her own childhood memories, museum archives and stories from friends.
