BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - New video campaign from the American Psychiatric Association Foundation aims to break the stigma around veteran mental health ahead of the 25th anniversary of 9/11.
For millions of American veterans, coming home doesn't mean leaving the battles of service behind.
Veterans make up just 6% of the U.S. population but account for nearly 18% of all suicides nationwide - claiming more than 6,300 lives every year, according to VA data.
