A 70-year-old pool hall owner in Houston's Acres Homes area shot a suspected intruder armed with a crowbar during an apparent burglary attempt early Thursday morning.

A 70-year-old pool hall owner shot a suspected intruder Thursday after police say the man charged at him with a crowbar during an apparent burglary attempt in Houston's Acres Homes area.
The shooting happened around 2 a.m. Thursday at a pool hall in the 7200 block of North Shepherd Drive near Millville Drive.
According to the Houston Police Department, the owner heard banging coming from the back of the business and went outside carrying a pistol to investigate.
