The Kerrville City Council had an emergency meeting at 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, during which it passed a resolution that will extend the disaster declaration that Mayor Joe Herring Jr. signed on July 16, in response to last week's flood, indefinitely.

The initial resolution lasts for seven days, per state law.

Council proposed to extend the resolution until Herring sees fit to terminate it.
