TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) - The City of Temple has ordered the temporary closure of the Temple Mall, citing unresolved fire and building code violations that officials say pose life-safety concerns.
City officials said the Temple Fire Marshal's Office issued a 30-day notice on May 22 warning the property would be ordered to vacate if identified deficiencies were not repaired by the deadline.
According to the city, issues found during inspections include an inoperable fire pump, multiple impaired or inoperable sprinkler systems, impaired or inoperable fire alarm panels and electrical hazards.
