BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - Bryan could soon see fewer billboards along major corridors, but some of the signs that remain could switch to digital screens under a proposed agreement with Lamar Advantage Outdoor Company.

City staff says Bryan's sign rules have prohibited new off-premise signs and billboards since 2003, though older billboard structures that predate the ordinance are allowed to remain as legal nonconforming signs.

The proposed development agreement would allow Lamar to convert six existing nonconforming billboard structures to digital display technology.
