BEAUMONT, Texas - Community leaders and advocates gathered Friday at the Lakeside Center in Beaumont for the 14th Annual Adult Protective Services Walk-a-thon to recognize Elder Abuse Awareness Month and promote resources for seniors and adults with disabilities.
The event, hosted by Jefferson County and Orange County Adult Protective Services, focused on educating the public about how to recognize and report abuse, neglect and exploitation.
Participants shared information about warning signs and available resources, emphasizing that abuse can take many forms and often goes unreported.
