During Tuesday morning's meeting, the Brownwood City Council unanimously approved staff to solicit competitive sealed bids for the Bennie Houston Recreation Center project, contingent upon TPWD's final approval of the sealed plans and specifications.

Design for the Bennie Houston Recreation Center renovation project is complete and sealed plans and specifications have been submitted to the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department (TPWD) for final review.

The City is awaiting TPWD's final approval and issuance of a Notice to Proceed for bidding of the project.
