On Sept. 25, the new District 14-4A Division 1 football race will get underway.

The Uvalde Coyotes will kick off their district slate with a tough road game against the La Vernia Bears.

Other district openers on that date will feature Pleasanton at Medina Valley Creek View and Floresville at San Antonio Kennedy, while Somerset has the district bye.
