A Uvalde EMS ambulance heads west in the flooded block of 200 East Main Street.

(Uvalde Leader-News photo by Pete Luna) Uvalde County emergency responders can't confirm an accurate count of flash flood rescues because they're happening so rapidly, but no people have been reported dead, injured or missing as of 10 a.m. July 16, according to Uvalde Police Department public information officer Juli Alvarado.

City residents are now being rescued as the Leona River continues to rise, flooding Main Street and midtown neighborhoods.
