SHERMAN, Texas (KXII) - After searching for more than a year, Grayson County District Attorney John Kermit Hill has found just the right fit to serve as chief of the Crimes Against Children division.

Justin Almand is an Austin College graduate with 17 years of experience as an attorney, and 7 years as Rockwall's chief child abuse prosecutor under his belt."You really have to bring some resiliency," Almand said.

"You have to make sure that you stay focused, you stay organized and you stay prepared. That's the only way you can deal with both the subject matter and the volume of cases."Since taking office in November of 2024, Hill said there has been a handful of cases awaiting trial docket status.
