HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A moped driver was killed in a crash after losing control of the vehicle in southeast Houston on Thursday afternoon, police said.

According to the Houston Police Department, the moped's operator was travelling southbound in the 2200 block of Wayside Drive at about 3:30 p.m. when he lost control.

Police said the moped failed to stay in a single lane and struck the curb of a sidewalk when the operator was ejected.
