The Granger Lions varsity football team suffered its first loss of the season, falling 48-0 to Goldthwaite on Friday, Sept. 4, at Granger High School.

The Lions' offense struggled throughout the game, marking the first time Granger has been shut out since a 45-0 loss to Chilton in the third round of the playoffs.

The loss also snapped Granger's streak of avoiding a regular-season loss since 2024, when the Lions fell to Somerville.
