SHERMAN, Texas (KXII) - The Sherman City Council this week approved a downtown lighting project more than a decade in the making, authorizing the replacement of 12 utility poles surrounding the Grayson County Courthouse with ornate posts featuring video message boards, speakers and Wi-Fi connectivity."This has been a work in progress to get us up until this point," said Leah Roberts, Executive Director of Administration.
What the project includesThe approved plan calls for removing all 12 existing poles around the courthouse and replacing them with decorative posts over the coming months."We will go in and the 12 poles around the Grayson County Courthouse over the course of the next few months will all be removed and replaced with much nicer looking actual ornate posts," said Nate Strauch.
Select poles will include additional technology features.
