Rumors of a major new data center project slated for Atascosa County have circulated widely online, but local officials say they have yet to be contacted by the developers behind the proposed facility.

According to a press release issued June 15 by the Office of County Judge Weldon P. Cude, the county has received an influx of inquiries from residents regarding the potential development.
