North Texas has experienced its longest heat streak on record at 100 consecutive days of 90+ degree temperatures, but heavy rain and severe storms are expected to arrive Wednesday from an upper-level system merging with remnants of Hurricane Polo.
As of Sunday, DFW has had 100 consecutive days at 90 degrees or higher, the longest streak ever.
However, some big changes are on the way this week.
On Wednesday, the chance of heavy rain returns, mainly late afternoon into the night, with the potential for strong-to-severe storms.
