Crime in Howard County trended downward in 2025, according to the latest data released through the Texas Department of Public Safety's National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) Uniform Crime Reporting Program.

The DPS figures show total reported offenses in Howard County fell from 6,252. 3 in 2024 to 5,328. 6 in 2025, a decline of 14. 77 percent.

While overall crime decreased, some violent crime categories saw increases.
