Swimmers planning a trip to the Russ McEwen Family Aquatic Center on Tuesday needed to make other plans.

The City of Big Spring announced that the aquatic center was closed today, July 21, because of mechanical issues affecting the facility.

City crews are already working to complete the necessary repairs and expect the pool to reopen Wednesday during its normal operating hours.
