A 15-year-old girl is recovering at a hospital after she was accidentally shot at a home early Sunday morning, authorities said.

Little Elm shooting What we know: Officers with the Little Elm Police Department responded to the 3400 block of Canyon Lake Drive around 5 a.m. following a report of an accidental shooting.

According to a preliminary investigation, the homeowner was out of town at the time of the incident, leaving their 16-year-old child at the residence.
